Black Lives Matter

The past couple of months have been tricky for us all; we’ve had to adjust to a “new normal”, unable to see loved ones and navigating a new routine. The constant silver lining has been the connection between people, the weekly Zoom quizzes and drinks over FaceTime has kept us all sane and in touch. Music has always been a way to bring people together, and that’s why we’re here today.

Following the recent atrocities towards Black people in America, it’s clear there has never been a more important time to educate ourselves, and each other, to the realities of systematic racism that has been impacting lives and damaging societies since the 16th century.

Black culture has influenced everything in our lives, from fashion to music to art to food, and now is the time to support Black businesses, producers, artists, designers. We found it difficult to know how to help, and while sharing posts on Instagram and retweeting hashtags is imperative to raise awareness for the cause, education is necessary to develop a deeper understanding of the prejudice. Below is a list of helpful resources we found to educate ourselves and further support the Black community.

Change comes from within; read books, watch documentaries and share them with your friends. Keep signing, keep donating and keep TALKING because our voices have power together. Factual videos, movies and documentaries
